Good day, I am David Farragut. Actually James Farragut but I changed my name after a great person named David Porter who actually adopted me to train me later for the military, which I am very great-full for. From then on I pursued my passion for the water and the Navy. I am actually from Tennessee which is in the south, when the war broke out I pledged alliegence for the United states and moved to New York to stay in the Union Navy. David Porter was in the Navy too, for the war of 1812 on the Essex which I was taught almost everything I know. In 1841 my beautiful wife of 16 years Susan died... a year later I was promoted to commander of the Navy which is one of my best honors, aside from sharing my life with Susan. This is my first post, but mark my words! There shall be another!

All About Me; David Farragut
